those who would be willing to pay for wasteof merch as a method of monetizing the site:

  • what kind of merch would you like? shirts, hoodies, hats?

  • how much would you be willing to pay for it? $10? $20?

  • what country would we have to ship to?

Get the big community of designers to help design it. (Micah made a mockup of a shirt one time, I once made some drawings of a wasteof merch lineup but never posted it, da-ta has designed a bunch of wasteof logo stuff, etc)

The big community of designers on the site*

This is a solid point.

I'd be happy to work up designs if there is anything people would like to see. Also could make a branding for the store page if that'd also be wanted.

I personally would buy hats (baseball caps), shirts (long and short sleeve), and jackets/hoodies. I think those are the three main things most people want as well.

As for price, you should make it premium (like, not just a screen printed T-shirt) and charge what it’s worth. Don’t just search for “best merch stores 2023” and choose the top result. Find a place that makes high-quality stuff. The best would be a local store (in your location) that makes it themselves, and then ship it to us. And make the clothes something that people want to wear every day (not too flashy, not crazy colors, etc). If you do that you can charge pretty much anything and it’ll work. TLDR: prioritize quality over price.

For country, you have the analytics so you probably know best, but the USA, UK, and Australia are musts. I would say to ship it anywhere but charge for however much shipping costs.

Setting up your own shop is more expensive than just paying Teespring, Redbubble, Printify, etc to do it, but it would come out better in the end.

ship to: CA, US, UK, CH

beanie, cap, t-shirt, stickers, keychain, car magnet, verification (jkjkjk)

the max i pay for stuff is 30 in general

a beanie could go hard. I’d drop $20 for a cool one.

But also (as imadeanaccount already mentioned) a lot of people who would buy merch wouldn’t be doing it for the product, but to support wasteof. So you could try opening a donation line and seeing what happens

i think pins would be cool, although i have no idea how expensive they would be

also stickers and stuff, but dean already said that

  • to be honest, hat

  • Honestly I have no idea since conversion rates for me here are a bit big, but I’d try saving up for 10$ (3463 HUF if I remember right)

  • Probably where most people live in but I’d say I would probably save up so Hungary included if possible

  • hoodies, shirts, beanie, baseball cap

  • probably $10 - $50

  • depends on the countries that most wasteof users live in

Latter point: I assume US and UK definitely
