ngl it’s super cool to see how hyped people are getting about rugby as a sport now due to the olympics, especially US women’s rugby with their bronze medal win. such a great sport that deserves all the love it can get

What type of rugby do you play

I’ve played both 7s and 15s but vastly prefer 7s, just can’t stand how long and brutal 15s games are. I play both forward and back depending on need, though i mostly just pass bc i have a knack for swinging the ball out towards weaknesses in the defense

7 players? That’s not rugby union or league. What type of rugby is it with 7 players?

It’s rugby union. while yes, rugby is typically played with 15 players a side, it is also common to play with seven during the spring and summer. Sevens is quickly becoming more and more popular, as it places a greater emphasis on speed, athleticism, and agility compared to 15s. Rugby sevens just finished up at the Olympics last weekend; the olympics doesn’t even offer 15s as an event.

until u damage ur brain but other than pretty dope sport

compared to football concussions are far less common bc any hitting above the shoulder is an immediate yellow card, if there’s concussions at all it’s from your head hitting the ground

Knock-off football 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

football originated as a spin-off of rugby and the two are completely different in terms of play style but ok

i’ve played both and both are epic, football is easier to play with friends and is more interesting strategy-wise but rugby is just as fun to play and is a better team sport

I was joking, I couldn’t tell you one difference between the two. I assume they are basically the same? just a little different

They’re quite different in structure, gameflow, and vibe, though technically speaking during a typical football play, you could run a play like you would in rugby without breaking any football rules. some rugby concepts are still left in football, the latter has just evolved beyond them. highly recommend learning about and watching rugby if you’re interested
