I think making changeable votes could be a good middle ground, to the 1 round system. Because that way, towards the end of the election, if it’s clear a certain candidate has zero chance of winning, people can change their vote, or the runner can drop out and endorse someone (this is basically what happened a lot last time). This way the 1 round voting system will still work, yet the final battle will still be competitive.
