my history teacher drives me mad
“guys please just pay attention to the video“
he proceeds to talk throughout the whole video, making it hard to pay attention
Survey (because I’m bored again): Answer in the comments on a scale of 1 to 10
How difficult to operate/unstable is your mind
How would you rate the quality of your imagination (rendering quality, ideas, etc.)
How unified do you feel your mind is (just being one thought stream/controller vs multiple simultaneous thought streams that can possibly conflict with one another)
I mostly keep the songs I really like in my downloaded playlist (yes I pay for YT music/premium but it’s worth it imo considering how much use I get out of it)
i just have two playlists called “yeah” (cover is the mindblown octopus memoji) and “uh” (cover is the among us shitting toothpaste) that divide roughly the two subgenres of music I listen to
yes and it’s called “songs that really need my biscuit” with a cursed image of the Pillsbury dough boy as the photo
Does anyone else have a playlist on Spotify or another service that is kinda like a master playlist? Y’know, the one with basically every song you’ve ever enjoyed. Because I have one called “Music to fill the endlessly empty void in your stone cold putrid heart” that has 755 songs and is 52 hrs and 26 mins long that I put on shuffle at least once a day lmao.
welcome to mef is bored and his brain does too much thinking again, although this thought in particular has been lingering in my head for a while and I’m just deciding to share it now
This is NOT a post critiquing the series but more just gaps in the world/lore that have always bugged me, also SPOILER WARNING I have literally read every book so this will be covering anything in the series
Anyways,
Technology
In many points in the story, it’s shown that they possess many technologies such as written language/a form of paper, metalworking, advanced culinary techniques, chemistry, but most confusingly, microbiology??? In book four starflight (of course it’s the nerd) mentions ANTIBODIES. HOW THE HELL DO THEY KNOW ABOUT ANTIBODIES??? And the worse part is, they know all this, AND YET THEY STILL DONT HAVE AGRICULTURE?? THAT IS LITERALLY THE FIRST TECHNOLOGY HUMANS MADE, HOW DO THEY HAVE MICROBIOLOGY YET THEY ARE STILL HUNTER-GATHERERS?? If anything, after the thousands of years they’ve been a common species, that many huge apex predators would have realistically decimated the ecosystem and their numbers would be much more limited due to food.
Communicating with humans
In book 15 (and the side book Dragonslayer) it is shown that dragons can learn to speak like humans. This however, makes no sense if you consider how different the mouth and other parts of the body are used for would be in a dragon vs a human, due to not having lips and an extremely different head structure, they would simply not be able to produce those sorts of sounds.
And best for last
Animus magic
If you think that that magic system is balanced in ANY WAY whatsoever you’re wrong. Literally the only restriction is that you can’t bring back the dead. At least from what I can tell, using the magic does not drain any sort of physical or mental energy. The consequences of using the magic are literally just that you might go mad with power, and it’s even proved in book 9 or 10 (I forget which one) that similar affects can affect dragons without magic. So it would be entirely possible for someone with animus magic to just say “I enchant myself to be a literal god and also the entire planet explodes lmao” and it would work. You don’t even have to use any sort of cryptic magic language or anything it’s basically just admin commands irl.
Anyway that’s it for the rant. No hate towards the series, that stuff was pretty much half my childhood and aside from these things it was a pretty good series which I heavily enjoyed.
the sky’s gone black, its heavily raining and thundering and the power’s gone out
what do you do:
grab a flashlight and crank the hell out of your crank powered radio
try seeing if cell service is still up or try to entertain yourself
bust out the fairy lights and take the opportunity to vibe
EYOO EXYL JUST RELEASED HIS SAVE THIS WORLD EP AND IT HAS A TON OF COLLABS WITH OTHER ARTISTS I ALSO LISTEN TO AND ITS SO GOOD
oh no I just came up with an idea for something very very cute
my brain is either “I made a really cool looking dragon and an entire universe to go with it“ or “LOOK AT THIS FLUFFY LITTLE GOOBER ISN’T HE CUTE?!??“ and its fun I like this way better than nihilism
random thought: if lemons are super sour, and oranges are kinda sour but pretty sweet, would a red (no, not an apple, another fruit like a lemon/orange/lime but red) be super sweet?
why does this have so many likes lmao
ARGGG IM TOO LOGICAL I NEED TO GO INSANE -my brain when it’s bored
(fr tho I need to get quirky)
being existential and making sense is nice but it’s also super nihilistic and depressing so I’ve decided to become more chaotic and make stuff up for fun
I’m now really thankful that I’m finally becoming more creative
