TL;DR: I'm thinking about asking for a desktop computer for Christmas and I kinda need some advice
For the past 5-6 years, the practicality of a laptop has been worth the drawbacks. Now, as I start to do things which require more power from a computer, it seems to be becoming a bottleneck rather than freeing.
I know very little about things like motherboards, power supplies, anything AMD, and desktops in general 
so I figure it's not worth building one from scratch for me
What's a good desktop? I'm looking to get something better than my laptop (16 gb RAM, i7-12700…k?, laptop RTX 3060, 1 TB SSD) and I have a lot of money saved from never participating in capitalism (I don't want to spend a butt load of $$$ on this though).
Does anyone have any advice? Should I get a prebuilt? Assemble it myself? Try AMD parts (not sure about this though)?

I was thinking OLED, 1440p (both screens I have rn are 1080p) (I'm not sure my computer would do well on 4k), but I'm having a hard time finding one that looks good.

Got to play Helldivers 2 with one of my good friends last night and I joined his game not knowing that it was a helldive on bots
Difficulty has changed a lot since I last played helldive I guess (I was there for Malevelon Creek) but it was actually really fun. I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was easy, but there were only a few moments where we were fully overwhelmed.
I seriously love HD2. Nothing quite like taking out a base with 2 bullets and no grenades, stratagems, or stims

AI? Really? AI? They want to inspire creativity and they are including AI? How on earth will AI help kids create? If anything, it will stop the learning process because, instead of creating art or code that is creative and requires skill, kids will just write a prompt.
