Heartbreaking. Gone but not forgotten - its memory lives on
Hello guys I would like to name and shame @geo for putting the most abysmal take below
I think it’s time to let the secret out Amy
Hello I think it’s time to address the elephant in the room. Owen and I broke up last week and we have decided this is the best course of action, not just for me, but for him. It was a good run everyone. I will still be posting here but less frequently due to personal reasons.
Thank you all for your understanding
The fact that the equal pay debate in football between men and women still exists is something I can’t get my head around. It’s such simple logic that men should earn more as they make way more. The debate is embarrassing.
Hot take: Fines should be based on your income. The bigger your income, the bigger the fine.
Fines are something used to discourage someone doing something, but it’s hardly discouraging for a millionaire who can happily take a parking ticket whenever they like, they aren’t above the law.
wait i’m the fucking national intelligence man
HUMINT, or otherwise known as Human Intelligence, which is a part of the national intelligence department, will now be deploying spies on public aeroplanes to see if anyone claps when the plane lands. If/when people do clap, that person (if identified) will be completely and forever cleared as being a national threat as that person is obviously loopy and is no threat to our nation.
HOT TAKE: clapping when planes land is really dumb
the pilot did it’s job? Woohoo. Was he expected to crash?

I avoid talking about politics on here, I leave that to the discussion channel in ta's hangout. But since it's engulfed some of the folks I follow and it's also on my mind, I want to say something. So, this is your warning, politics ahead:
The current far-right, racist riots in the UK (mainly in England and some in Northern Ireland, luckily hasn't spread to my home of Scotland nor Wales yet) are harrowing, and shows how we've been failed by so many groups. The previous Tory government that used immigration as a fearmongering tool to stay in power, ironic now that islamophobes are yelling "stop the boats" while attacking Mosques. Or Nigel Farage who eagerly stoked the flames but then denies all accountability for holding the match by using a tragedy for his own political gain, plus all the other far-right losers like Andrew Tate or Tommy Robinson who is continuing to encourage violence while he sunbathes in Cyprus. Or the gutter press like The Daily Mail, The Daily Express, The Sun, or all the other news orgs who were too scared to call out their peers’ rhetoric that lead us here. Social media also has to answer for allowing misinfo to spread.
To those still suffering from the riots, please stay safe, this is a dark time for the UK, but tonight has given me hope, massive crowds of counter protesters in cities like London have scared off the far-right thugs, in Brighton there are thousands of anti-racist & anti-fascist protesters to 3-4 of the far-right. There is hope.
The riots in the UK are absolutely disgusting.
Particularly when they can use a tragic story like the murders in Southport of 3 young girls not long ago, and twist the story to fit their dangerous narratives and to pin it on immigrants and Muslims (even though the attacker was born in Cardiff, and wasn’t a Muslim!)
And then especially when their utterly useless protests are a lot worse than what immigrants are doing - do immigrants come here and burn police stations and apartments with asylum seekers in? Do they throw wood planks at police officers?
I find it so ironic that this entire debacle is also putting more pressure on emergency services, like the NHS. I wonder what group makes up about a quarter of the NHS!
Immigration is not the leading issue in the UK. It’s not even that big of an issue. Of course, Illegal immigrants should not be allowed to enter the country, but I think most people agree with that. But people coming into the country, to work, to help out the emergency services, who contribute to the UK economy I’m all for. EU Immigrants coming to UK contributed £8.8 billion more than they gained from 1991-2011.
So the riots are disgusting + immigrants aren’t the big issue + fuck tommy robinson
I wish people could learn that just because one person commented about something that may be “controversial”, doesn’t mean they need to talk about other controversies.
Not like my post was even controversial, literally just led to some interesting discussions which is totally fine.
I think in the past year I’ve been way too harsh on the Scratch Team.
There’s obvious serious issues at the company that are either not specific departments faults (eg it’s not the development departments fault they haven’t been adding features) or are either no one’s fault.
the development team used to have 18 permanent engineers. Now they have 3. I assume this is mainly from the layoffs not too long ago, which could’ve just been to cut costs. When Scratch Team member @wheelsonfire were asked about the layoffs, he said that the company had disagreements with leadership, leading to 4 executive directors in 5 years. This isn’t any of the departments fault.
The Scratch Team made a 6 million loss in 2023. They spent basically the same as 2022 (300K loss), but got way less revenue (over 5 million less!) they are very obviously underfunded.
So I think I and others need to cut some slack for the team. Since if this year and best they also make big losses, I’m struggling to see how Scratch can even survive and exist.
I am now on the Beta/Alpha explore pages!
