THE INTERNET—Lashing out at each other with screenshots of news articles with no sources over which political party was more incapable of running the world’s wealthiest country, wasteof fan accounts Republicans and Democrats began fighting a war of words Monday in an effort to be honoured with the platform's “Biggest Dweeb” award. “The LAME-OCRATS and WOKE liberal media would have you believe that KRINGE KAMALA would be a better president than TRUMP! They/them are WRONG! Trump has already done so much for this country unlike SLEEPY JOE,” read a message by the Republicans account, marking a strong start which could win them the award for being completely and utterly batshit weird. “Oh yeah? Well we have facts on our side! You guys have already caused an economic crash and brought back measles. And that reminds me, please remember to DONATE to our fight to wag our fingers at every bad thing Trump is doing! It’s vital you give us your fucking goddamn money, we have THE RIZZ guys,” said a reply from Democrats, which shot the account into the lead after a spike in hospitalisations due to users gritting their teeth to dust from profusely wincing. At press time, when asked by a fellow wasteof user if either of them think their respective parties should refuse money from lobbying groups, both accounts replied “Hell fucking no, give them that sweet moolah” simultaneously.
this is not to say that all democrats are horrible nor that voting for them is automatically bad. we know what the alternative is and we’ve seen (and are seeing every day into this current administration) how horrible republican policies are for Americans, especially the most vulnerable in our society. this is to say that democrats just don’t get the job done and that cheerleading for a party that is wildly ineffective and cowardly in the face of unprecedented authoritarianism is just asinine to me.
keep making fun of politicians, calling out their horrendous views and policies, and holding them accountable for their corruption and selfishness, on both sides. there’s more to criticize and more dangerous and abhorrent rhetoric from the right by far, that’s for sure, but don’t act like democrats are automatically pure and good and incapable of doing wrong just because they’re the only existing alternative.

obviously there’s a lot more to make fun of/be appalled by with republicans, and their current agenda is actively pushing America on a downward spiral toward trump-deifying authoritarian fascism, but that doesn’t make democratic politicians any less incompetent, ineffective, and afraid to challenge the existing status quo, nor any less willing to sacrifice the livelihood of working class at the behest of billionaires for the party’s own interests.
they are by far the lesser of two evils, but they are still not good. the american people deserve a party that actually serves them well. right now there is none. are they actively being prevented from doing as much as they could? absolutely. but even when they are in charge, they have proven time and time again that they don’t do enough to actually fix the issues the US faces, because they benefit too much from the status quo to enact real change. they, like republican politicians, are backed by corporations and billionaires, and thus cannot risk enacting policies that threaten their profit margins.
Corrupt politics with pride and blm stickers is still corrupt politics.
tl;dr: anything is better than what we have right now and republicans are absolutely horrible, but don’t let democrats off the hook for their inefficacy and corruption. we need better.
