So excited to not use the Windows Co-pilot feature when it turns up in a future Windows Update for 2 reasons:

  1. I know how to use Windows and don’t need ChatGPT to use Windows for me.

  2. They didn’t call it Clippy.

Upgraded to Windows 11 yesterday after using Windows 10 since it launched in 2015. Centred taskbar is certainly an experience. The UI is nicer looking, but some functionality in the taskbar is still missing.

Beach House’s new EP called Become is so pretty. It has a subtle gothic and mystical tone while keeping the ethereal, dreamy and relaxing sound the duo are known for. I talked about it on TNC already but just wanted to mention it here because of how much I like the artwork.

My first post from wasteof.mobile, massive thank you to my TNC co-host @micahlt for all of his work on the app!

Headphones are objectively better than earbuds/earphones. Take it from me who used to exclusively use earbuds and now suffers from frequent earwax impaction that makes it hard to hear lol. Having to use earwax softening drops 2 times a week is not fun.

A Moon Shaped Pool by Radiohead released 7 years ago today. One of the bands best records and just a beautiful album in general. Heavy on the heart but delicate on the ears.

the fact that software like linux, obs, vlc, firefox, gimp, inkscape, audacity, qbittorrent, blender, notepad++ and libreoffice are all open source is insane. computing in general would be so primitive without the work of the open source community.

Does anyone else have a playlist on Spotify or another service that is kinda like a master playlist? Y’know, the one with basically every song you’ve ever enjoyed. Because I have one called “Music to fill the endlessly empty void in your stone cold putrid heart” that has 755 songs and is 52 hrs and 26 mins long that I put on shuffle at least once a day lmao.

funny how ai generated drake songs are actually more interesting than anything drake has dropped in a good while lmao

just a friendly reminder

For anyone unaware, Bard generates 3 different responses for each query, here are the other 2 it spat out lol

AI Writes My Daily Posts: Day 4/7

Day 4: Google Bard

Prompt: "Write a shower thought for a social media post."

Response: We spend so much time in the shower, yet we never really think about it. We just stand there, letting the water wash over us, and our minds wander. We think about our day, our plans for the future, or we just zone out completely. But what if we could use our time in the shower to be more productive? What if we could use it to learn something new, or to come up with new ideas?

The next time you're in the shower, take a few minutes to focus on something other than your day-to-day worries. Listen to a podcast, read an article, or just think about something that you've been wanting to learn more about. You might be surprised at how much you can accomplish in just a few minutes.

(thanks @da-ta for putting this prompt in for me since I don't have access to Bard)

okay who fed chatgpt all of my music rants for it to learn off of?

Been listening to a lot of music lately, and I gotta say, there's nothing quite like discovering a new favorite song. It's like finding a treasure that you never knew existed. Whether it's a catchy pop tune or a moody indie ballad, music has this amazing ability to connect with us on a deep emotional level. It can make us feel happy, sad, nostalgic, energized, or calm. And the best part is, there's so much great music out there to discover. It's like a never-ending journey of exploration and self-discovery. What are some of your favorite songs or artists right now?
