happy to announce a fresh and exciting new rebrand for @da-ta!

Hello I’m going to scream about the dumbest and most needless rebrand I’ve seen this year so far and that’s Microsoft Office. As you all likely know, Microsoft Office is the productivity suite comprising apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more. The Office name has been used since at least the early 90s. However, in 2022, they renamed Microsoft Office to Microsoft 365, for some reason…

I still ponder to this day as to why, it simply makes it more vague, Office is a clear name whereas the new one at the time could be for anything? Microsoft is the parent company name that comprises Windows, Xbox, Azure, etc. Naming Office just “Microsoft” with 365 at the end is pointless, especially when Office 365 was already a part of the brand prior.

But now in 2025 when Microsoft is only interested in shoving AI down everyone’s throats, they’ve decided to rename Microsoft 365 to Microsoft 365 Copilot (aka M365) and use the Copilot logo with a little label.

I legit don’t even know why. They’ve now made it where the Copilot app and M365 icons look almost identical, which will confuse people. Not just that, but all 3 brand names are in use right now. Office is still used for perpetual licence versions, Microsoft 365 still appears for the subscription version and M365 is used for the app names and online apps. They are smashing 3 different brands together like some Frankenstein’s monster when you could just call it Office and keep Copilot as a separate brand. Utterly baffling decisions.

chatgpt really is fluent in yappanese, no wonder it might lose its job to ai 😭

I asked chatgpt to summarize this post:

User "auriali" posted a brief yet reflective message expressing disbelief and sadness over the idea that ChatGPT, a widely used AI language model, might eventually lose its "job" to newer AI technologies. The post communicates a sense of surprise, as the user seems to have a hard time accepting the possibility that such an advanced AI could become obsolete. The phrase "can't believe" highlights the user's shock, suggesting they hadn’t anticipated such a future for ChatGPT, which is often viewed as one of the most innovative AI models currently available.

The message goes on to convey a feeling of loss, with the use of "so sad" underscoring a deep emotional reaction to this hypothetical situation. While the post is short, it implicitly reflects broader concerns about the rapid pace of technological advancements and the potential for AI tools to be outpaced or replaced. There's a subtle personification of ChatGPT, as if the AI were a worker with a job that could be taken away, evoking sympathy for a technology that has gained widespread use and admiration.

Through this expression of sadness, the user may be touching on larger fears about the unpredictability of AI’s future, where even groundbreaking systems like ChatGPT could find themselves displaced in a world of constant innovation. The post serves as a commentary on both the fragility and the relentless progress of technological advancement.

Interesting rating! Gives me an excuse to do one too (haven't heard Section.80 yet):

  1. To Pimp A Butterfly - what can be said about this album that hasn't been said already? This album’s a full, rich and dense experience with an amazing jazz fused hip hop sound.

  2. good kid, m.A.A.d city - more immediately accessible than TPAB, but still has a rich concept and a lot to say for itself.

  3. Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers - an album with lush production while being deeply honest by using a loose therapy session concept.

  4. DAMN. - has some of Kendricks biggest and most memorable songs. The concept of having some tracks be opposites to one another (e.g. LOVE. AND LUST.) and how the album can be played in reverse order is cool.

  5. GNX - a great collection of tracks that jump from being catchy and fun to introspective and thoughtful. Only reason it's sitting down here is I'm not fond of the title track, other than that this is a great album.

One thing that runs through all these albums is how Kendrick is such a good storyteller, his writing and versatility is seemingly boundless.

My Kendrick album ranking

  1. DAMN. It's pretty good idk every song is a hit to me

  2. To Pimp A Butterfly. Real good but I haven't listened to it in a while

  3. GNX. I may get this on vinyl in the future. First Kendrick album with every song liked

  4. Good kid, m.A.A.d city. Listened recently and it's very good. Needs to grow on me

  5. Mr Morale and the big steppers. More of an honorable mention cause I haven't listened to all of it

was pretty scary getting this, the sound rings right through you. first time getting one for real. stay safe my fellow scots and folks in northern ireland and ireland during the storm! also stay safe in england and wales too! ❤️

Warning for politics, profanity, and insulting billionaires (lol).

Having to watch losers like Trump, Musk, Zuckerberg, Cook, Nadella, Pichai, and more burn it all to the ground for their own enrichment and witnessing how many minorities and vulnerable people that will suffer due to their hate and greed hurts enough, but the extra salt in the wound is how painfully cringe they are. Seriously, these fucking losers are what is going to accelerate climate change and plunge us into complete turmoil with potentially little to no hope of recovery? These fucking dorks? Donald Trump, a man born by combining everyone’s racist grandad at Christmas dinner to create one super racist? Elon Musk, the guy who fakes being good at video games and reposts dead memes from iFunny? Mark “I’m not a robot” Zuckerberg? Jeff Bezos, who looks like someone tried to recreate The Hood from Thunderbirds from memory? Tim Cook, a man who would disintegrate if he ate anything that had been near a chilli? Satya Nadella, who looks like an AI generated image to the prompt, “the most pathetic looking tech bro alive”? Sundar Pichai, someone so boring I can’t even think of an insult? These are our world ending Bond villains? They don’t even have the courtesy to be charismatic villains, they’re all just pathetic, personality devoid losers with nothing but the desire for more wealth. It’s nowhere near the biggest issue with this made in America oligarchy, but it’s just the shit cherry on top of the shit cake.

It's time gamers, I made the @wastedonion account and will start posting tomorrow! Will post for a week to see how it goes and if it goes well then I'll keep it up! I promise I won't promote this account afterwards, just wanted to at least get it off the ground and make people aware. Cheers!
