Today marks the 5 year anniversary of Auriali on Scratch. Made initially as a secret account. For those that don’t know, in the designer community on Scratch, designers sometimes create an account where they don’t reveal their identity to see if people can figure out who they are. Auriali was my attempt at that. It didn’t go well since I was discovered within a week. After that, I didn’t touch the account until a month after I created it. This is where I shared the first meme project to Auriali. Thus began the saga of Auriali being the dumping ground for stupid memes, silly projects and experimental design work that didn’t fit on da-ta or da-ta2. Over that time the account got a lot of lore and inside jokes, like how Auriali is canonically a girl or all powerful. Then when I created Auriali here on wasteof, it slowly developed from being like the Scratch account to just my alt account I use to share more frequent posts while this account stays monthly. And of course who can forget how Auriali became wasteof’s first president, pretty damn cool if you ask me.
With all of that said, thank you for your support! Whether it be on here or Scratch, Auriali has been a fun account and brand to develop over the years. This year has been full of milestones for me, 10 years of da-ta and 5 years of Auriali as well as ta’s hangout. Next year sees my alt accounts da-ta2 and AuriaIi (i instead of an L) turn 10 and 5 respectively, which is wild.
